As we start our new year of 2024, it will probably be the most important election year of our lives. If we don’t elect the right candidates to represent us this year, I don’t know what the future holds for us.
This year, our state is holding a caucus which is for the President only. You will continue to vote as you have in the past for the candidates of your choice in the primary and general election. For those of you who don’t understand how the caucus works, there will be a special presentation and walk through given on the January 20, 2024, at our regular meeting at the VFW Post on Hwy. 39 in Shell Knob.
Ken Hurley and Shane Schoeller will be giving the presentation. Both are highly knowledgeable and skilled about the caucus. Ken Hurley is State Senatorial Committeeman for District 29, which is our district. Shane Schoeller is running for Secretary of State.
Others in attendance will be Chris Wright, who is running for Governor; Bert Whaley, who is running for the 138th District; County Clerk from Barry County Joyce Ennis and Denise Dickens, from Stone County; and also Barry County Sheriff Danny Boyd.
Folks, I hope that all of you will attend this important meeting and tell your friends and neighbors about it. All of you will and do make a difference as to the outcome of our elections.
