Prepper Nation offers up survivalist gear and an open air market for community
April 20, 2016
Charlea Estes & Brenda Moore A new, unique store opened last week offering up survivalist gear and collectibles to the community. Prepper Nation of the Ozarks held a grand opening Friday through Sunday last week, offering music, prizes and food to the community. The store opened on Highway 37 north of Purdy where Raggedy Ann’s Flea Market used to be located. Dana W. Bland is the owner and operator of Prepper Nation. Bland’s desire is to make a difference in the people of the Ozarks’ lives through the store, but also his ministry. On top of opening Prepper Nation, Bland is also pastor of Victory in One Accord Fellowship and a disabled veteran. It is Bland’s vision to offer fun and fellowship through his church, but also through his store which offers up wares that help people in their adventure to prepping for a disaster, but also those just wanting to browse or check out the selection of items in his once-a-month “no junk auction.” Bland said, “the prices will go down, not up here. Come in and see our inventory. I am anxious to meet you all.” Prepper Nation offers camping gear like tents and equipment, as well as crossbows, freeze-dried food packets, knives, hats, flash lights and antiques. Anything you would expect to see in an open-air flea market is what Bland offers and is looking for from vendors. All vendors and public are welcome to stop in and bring their merchandise for consignment. Bland said, “Please bring good stuff like antiques and new or used collectibles. Just no clothing.” All trades will be considered, as well. The Prepper Nation of the Ozarks Trading Post is located on north Highway 37 near Purdy. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Church services are at 10:45 a.m. on Sundays. The “no junk auction” is the first Saturday of every month at 5 p.m. Contact Prepper Nation at (417) 847-7974 for all other information and drop off times. |
