Purdy announces Homecoming, Tip-Off candidates

Purdy High School will crown its 2020 Homecoming Queen between basketball games on Friday, January 17. This year’s theme is “Kick Your Boots off and Stay Awhile.” The JV basketball contest vs. Sparta will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the coronation and the varsity contest. The 2020 PHS Mr. Tip-Off will be crowned at a special Homecoming Assembly hosted by the PHS Cheerleaders at 2 p.m. on Homecoming Friday after a fun-filled week of special dress-up days, including Camo Day, Pajama Day, Country/Western Day and more. Homecoming Week will conclude on Saturday evening, when PHS students will enjoy a semi-formal Homecoming Dance at 7 p.m., hosted by PHS Student Council. This year’s candidates are pictured from left to right: freshmen Anna Hoffman and Destry Patton, sophomores M’Kena Propps and Matthew Cornelius, juniors Lauren Schallert and Zack Brewer, and seniors Kylie Wood and Harley Stephens.
