Over 800 Missouri middle and high schools students attended the 2018 Future Business Leaders of America National Fall Leadership Conference in Chicago November 2-3.  Among them were six members of the Purdy High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter. They and their advisers enjoyed two days of leadership development and career planning in the Windy City, featuring keynote speakers Brandon Lee White and Carlos V. Spencer. Missouri was awarded largest FBLA (high school) chapter in attendance.
In their spare time, the group toured the Federal Reserve Bank, explored the famous Milennium Park and faced their fears on the SkyDeck at Willis Tower. Senior Purdy FBLA member and aNFLC attendee Kyler Propps observed, “Chicago contributed great insight through the workshops and furthered my knowledge of the business world.” Sophomore attendee Lauren Schallert added, “Touring Chicago was a great experience. Riding through the city on a Segway was one of my favorite experiences, by far.”
Missouri FBLA-PBL, a chartered member of National FBLA-PBL, is a registered 501(c)3.  Their mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.  Missouri FBLA-PBL membership exceeds 16,000, making it the second largest state chapter of the organization in the nation and the second largest career and technical student organization in Missouri.
