Purdy FBLA competitors advancing to State

The Purdy High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter will be represented by nine students at the state competition, April 14 through 16, at Missouri State University. Punching their ticket to state at the District 5 Leadership Conference, held at New Site Church on February 12, were Jake Kellar, 1st place in Securities and Investments; Shana Whisman, 1st place in Client Service; Macy Terry, 1st place in Intro to Parliamentary Procedure and 4th place in Intro to FBLA; Kinsley Mattingly, 3rd place in Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Kyler Propps, 4th place in Advertising; Clay Henderson, 4th place in Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; and Drew Graham, 5th place in Journalism. Also qualifying for state competition under the At-Large/Wild Card category were Mason Schallert in Accounting 1 and Joy Grace in Journalism.
Under the At-Large/Wild Card rule the five highest test scores statewide that did not qualify on the very competitive district level also advance to state.
Purdy competitors placing in the District 5 Top 10 but not qualifying for state included: Joy Grace, 2nd in Broadcast Journalism; Zach Henderson, 3rd place in Business Ethics; Emma Harkey, 3rd place in Emerging Business Issues and 6th place in Health Care Administration; Bradley Biloki and Caitlin Brown, 4th place in Graphic Design; Lauren Schallert, 7th place in Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Bayleigh Schad, 7th place in Business Communication and 10th place in Journalism; Macy Terry, 8th place in Intro to Business Procedures; Shana Whisman, 9th place in Business Communication; Audrey Lowe, 9th place in Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Jake Kellar, 9th place in Job Interview; M’Kena Propps, 9th place in Intro to Public Speaking; and Kyler Propps, 10th place in Accounting.
