Purdy FFA hosts annual Food for America Program
December 4, 2019
The Purdy FFA chapter hosted the 2019 Food for America program on Friday, October 18. Purdy FFA chapter officers and members taught Purdy Elementary students in preschool through fourth grade about the origins of their food and how it is made. Students met a variety of livestock, including dairy and beef cows, a pig, a turkey and chickens. They also learned about crops, such as wheat, fescue and pumpkins. Purdy FFA member and participant M’Kena Propps noted of the event, “Food for America was a great day. The program ran really well, and both the FFA members and the kids had a great time."
