Purdy students host record-breaking Pink Out

November 14, 2018
Members of the Purdy High School Volleyball Team, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Music, Art and Drama Club (M.A.D. Club) joined forces to host the school’s 2018 Volleyball Pink Out, raising a record-breaking $1,403 for a Purdy parent battling breast cancer. Students and staff participated in a wide variety of fundraisers, including t-shirt, cake pop, bandana and necklace sales; a face painting booth; a volleyball serving contest; and a 50/50 raffle.
Pink Out honoree Tomasa Perez and her family joined the PHS volleyball team on the court during the evening’s contest to raise breast cancer awareness and to celebrate her courage. Pink Out Purdy FBLA co-adviser and volleyball coach Ashley Brown and a delegation of Pink Out Committee members presented Perez, who was joined by her son, with this year’s funds raised.
