Purdy High School Volleyball Coach, Mica Propps, and Purdy FBLA Co-Sponsors, Kay Wright and Emily Brewer, are pleased to announce the results of the district’s October 8, 2020 Pink Out fundraising activities, which included t-shirt and cake pop sales, the opportunity for students to wear hats to school for a $1 donation and a 50/50 raffle and serving contest at the evening’s volleyball game.
FBLA Co-Sponsor Kay Wright noted, “our annual Pink Out event is definitely a team effort, involving all of our staff, students and community. Special thanks goes to Jennifer Robbins, who made, individually wrapped and donated 500 cake pops for us to sell. She is a true friend of the Purdy Eagles."
This year’s efforts raised a total of $1,520, which was divided between Purdy parent Eugenia Barrientos and Purdy alumna and district employee Connie Goetz, who is also Coach Propps’s mom. Both Barrientos and Goetz are currently battling breast cancer.
Goetz noted of her selection as a recipient, "Being chosen as a co-recipient of the 2020 Purdy Pink Out effort was a truly humbling experience. It allowed me to see how much people care. Breast cancer is a tough road, but it is made easier when you know you've got so many people behind you, supporting you and praying for you. I am so proud and thankful to be a Purdy Eagle.
