Purdy’s Boyd qualifies for FBLA Nationals
May 2, 2018
Purdy High School junior Colby Boyd will represent the Purdy Eagles at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, this summer, after finishing in first place at the State competition in Sales Presentation. Boyd noted of his qualification, “FBLA has played a big role in my high school career. I have been a member for four years, including one year of middle level FBLA, and I have developed a variety of leadership/business skills as a result. This year, I competed in Sales Presentation, earning first place at the district contest, allowing me to earn a trip to the state competition. I began to truly realize the impact FBLA has had on my life once I got to State and felt the excitement of that level of competition. I have learned how to stand up and be a leader, as well as how to work as a team with other local and district officers. To cap off a phenomenal experience, I ended up placing first in the state, which qualifies me to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Baltimore. I am looking forward to Nationals and am excited to see what the future holds.” Colby Boyd competes under the guidance of Purdy FBLA advisers Kay Wright and Ashley Brown. He is the son of Danny and Frances Boyd and Sherrie and Dustin Schooley.
