The Cassville Habitat for Humanity ReStore is holding a grocery drawing to thank the community for the support they receive during the year. ReStore manager Sharon Schacht said the giveaway items were provided by employees and volunteers to give away around Christmas.
Schacht said, “The community has given so much to us through donations. We just wanted to give back to them.”
Anyone visiting the ReStore can put their name in a drawing for the grocery giveaway. The drawing will be held on Thursday, December 22, so the winner can get their gift before Christmas.
All of the donations of items to the ReStore goes to fund the building of Habitat for Humanity homes in the Cassville area. Without community support, Schacht said it wouldn’t be possible. When people donate items, they are sold in the ReStore and all proceeds benefit the Habitat for Humanity projects.
The ReStore has been in operation for over ten years to fund the building of homes for area residents in need. Habitat is beginning construction on their sixth home soon on a double lot on 8th Street.
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian outreach ministry that was created to make a way for everyone in the world to have a decent place to live in with the partnership and cooperation of the communities.
If applicants meet income and employment guidelines, they are able to purchase the home with no-interest payments as long as they commit to a certain a number of labor hours to build the home.
The Cassville ReStore is open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To sign up for their grocery drawing, stop by the store. The drawing will be held on Thursday, December 22.
