RWTB team goes 17-2 at Brazillian Jiu Jitsu championship

On Saturday, September 8, a team representing the Cassville RWTB Family Martial Arts Center travelled to Springfield's Bible Baptist College to compete in the Fuji Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships. Altogether, the team ended the competition with a record of 17-2, willing seven gold medals and one silver medal.
Faith James, of Cassville, competed in the 13 year old intermediate division in both Gi and No-Gi. She won all four of her matches by submission and only allowed one take-down to be scored on her the entire day. For her efforts, she took home a gold medal. Logan Tolbert, of Cassville, competed in his first ever Jiu Jitsu competition in the 18 and over advanced white belt Gi and No-Gi divisions. Logan went a perfect 6 for 6 on the day and did not allow a single point to be scored against him. Jeremy West, of Cassville, competed in a stacked 155 lb. weight division in Gi and ended up taking 4th place. Cal Tolbert, of Cassville, competed in the masters 185 lb weight division in advanced white belt Gi and No-Gi. Cal also went a perfect 4-0 recording the 4th and 5th fastest submission in the tournament with his two submission victories. Truman Burbridge, of Shell Knob, competed in the expert division in No-Gi and the blue belt division in Gi. Truman ended up taking silver in his Gi division against a multi-time state champion wrestler. In No-Gi, he won both of his matches by points.
