Seligman Walmart moves closer to opening
November 19, 2014
Charlea Mills Big changes for the Seligman community near as progress continues on the new Walmart Neighborhood Market slated to open in just under a month. Shelves are being built inside and three truckloads of fixtures were unloaded last week. Tim Williams, the Seligman Walmart store manager, said, “I have met many of the customers in the area and the vast majority say they really need a pharmacy and that they are looking forward to having a nice, clean grocery store with great prices and a gas station.” The new pharmacist that will be joining the Seligman store has been at a Joplin Walmart for three months and is gearing up to start at the new store. Pharmacist Andrew Aumann went to the University of Arkansas for both his undergrad in pre-pharmacy and his doctorate. Before joining Walmart, he worked for Walgreen’s, but he looks forward to working closer to his home in Bella Vista, Ark. He said that the pharmacy will offer more than just prescriptions. He said, “We will offer immunizations, too. It won’t just be the flu shots, but also shingles and a few others, as well.” Williams said, “I am looking forward to working with Andrew and his pharmacy associates. I know many of the people who live in the area need a quality pharmacy closer to home to take care of their prescriptions. Having a pharmacy in Seligman will provide a convenient shopping experience.” Aumann, his wife and their two children have lived in the area for 13 years. In his free time, Aumann likes to spend time with his family and go fishing. He said, “I want to check out Roaring River. I haven’t been there yet, but I’m excited to go.” The grand opening for the store will be in early December. Williams stated, “We are on track to open as scheduled December 10 and the pharmacy and store will be ready to go.” |
