Shell Knob Eighth Graders Recognized
May 20, 2020

Shell Knob School was determined to recognize this year’s graduating eighth grade class despite restrictions on a large graduating ceremony. The teachers and administration of the school arranged for each graduating student to attend a drive-up ceremony on May 14. Arriving at the school individually with their family, each student was presented their diploma and recognized for their accomplishments.
For several years, the Shell Knob Lions Club has honored the top young man and woman eighth grader with the highest academic performance. This year’s awards went to Dre Jines, Valedictorian, and Madelyn Holtmann, Salutatorian. As part of the graduation ceremony, Dre and Madelyn were each presented with an Amazon Fire Tablet.
Later in the year, the Lions Club will present gift cards to the most improved student at Shell Knob School. The Lions also make a $1,000 annual scholarship available for a Shell Knob student graduating from high school. These awards are given to recognize the hard work of the young people of Shell Knob and encourage excellence for our community.
The Lions want to recognize the achievements of Dre Jines and Madelyn Holtmann along with all the other students of Shell Knob School. With support from our community, we wish all these young people continued success in their pursuits.
