Shell Knob woman dies in ATV crash

Shari Rains, 59, of Shell Knob, died June 15 in a 6 p.m. accident.
In Fox Woods Circle, 3 miles south of Shell Knob, Kenneth Hayzlett, 62, was backing an eastbound 2013 Polaris Ranger and overturned, ejecting Rains. Rains was pronounced dead at 6:34 p.m. by Barry County Deputy Coroner Todd Hughs, and was then transported to Fohn Funeral Home. Minor damage was done to the vehicle. Hayzlett was wearing a safety device, Rains was not.
This is the 61st fatality for Troop D in 2021, which includes Barry County.
