Southwest Trap Team Competed at AIM State
The Southwest Trap Team traveled once again to Linn Creek, on June 26, this time for the Missouri AIM State Shoot.
Parents sat under umbrellas while the participants got soaked as they stood on the shooting line. The overcast sky and rain made shooting targets more difficult, but that did not slow down these top notch shooters.
Case Jennings shot his first 25 straight and will have the traditional shooting of his hat at the next practice.
His older brother, Samuel Jennings, shot his first 75 and 100 straight. This earns Sam two new patches.
Caleb Ayer shot his way to be the AIM Sub-Jr. Champion in a field of 107 shooters.
The Sub-Jr. squad of Colten Phillips, Bailey Stephens, Alex Ramirez, Case Jennings, and Devin Hall placed 5th in the Sub-Jr. Division.
The Junior squad of Ty Howard, Olivia Ayer, Samuel Jennings, Caleb Ayer and Lilly Wolf were just shy of the medals, taking 4th in the Junior Division.
Coach Staci Day stated, “We’re looking forward to the Nationals in Sparta, Illinois. These kids have so much talent, I’m confident they will do well this year.”
