Stones Prairie raffle quilts revealed

The designs for the quilts to be raffled off at the annual St. John’s Stones Prairie church picnic have been revealed. Chances to win the three pieces will be sold for $1 per ticket. The queen-sized quilt is a Burgoyne Gardens pattern of magenta, greens and golds. It was pieced by Nancy Kielblock and hand-quilted by the St. John’s quilters: Helen Rupp, Margaret Rupp, Nancy Kielbock, Lillian Schad, Carolyn Schad, Mary Schad and Betty Meier. There is also a crocheted afghan of garnet and white, made by Margaret Rupp, as well as a baby quilt of wise little owls motif with multicolor blocks, pieced and appliqued by Carolyn Schad and hand quilted by St. John’s quilters. They will each by raffled off at the St. John’s Stones Prairie Annual church picnic on July 20. The picnic will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 5732 Farm Road 1057 in Purdy. $1 per ticket.
