On Monday afternoon, an SUV hit a train in Seligman, but miraculously, the driver walked away with no reported injuries.
According to Seligman Police Chief Terry Burgess, Royle Wiseley, 31, of Cassville, was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer east on Roller Ridge when he approached the railroad crossing. According to a statement made by the driver  at the scene, he saw the train, but when he tried to stop, his brakes were not working, and he rolled into the side of the train.
According to Burgess, the SUV was dragged around 110 feet before coming to a stop at the railroad switch. At the scene, the driver had no reported injuries.
The train that runs through that intersection is with the Arkansas Missouri Railway and did not stop after the crash. It is not clear as to whether the conductor of the train was aware of the crash when it occurred.
The Seligman Police Department, Barry County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol all responded to the incident.
