Swearingen sworn in as Coroner

Gary Swearingen, of Cassville, was sworn in as Barry County Coroner by Barry County Clerk Jill LeCompte in a special ceremony at the courthouse Wednesday, September 23.
Swearingen has taken on the responsibilities of county coroner since the passing of Jim Fohn, who died June 29 of this year.
Swearingen’s will serve as coroner through December 31, 2020.
As a candidate for coroner on the Republican ticket, he will face Democratic candidate, Rusty Dilbeck, of Butterfield, and Independent candidate, Skip White, of Cassville, in the November 3 General Election.
