             Southwest SAE spotlight: Chance Black
Q: Explain in your words what an SAE project is and what this means to you.
Black: An SAE is a supervised agricultural experience. This is a great way to begin to build upon work ethic while under supervision.
             Q: What is your SAE?
Black: My SAE is welding/fabrication in Wheaton at DNR.
Q: What about this interests you?
Black: I took my first Ag/shop class 9th grade year, and the welding aspect of it always fascinated me. The math and geometry aspect of it is also interesting to me.
Q: How can this opportunity help in your future?
Black: This has already helped me prepare for working in the future by teaching me new welding techniques for future jobs.
Q: What have you found to be your greatest strengths and weaknesses through your SAE project?
Black: Through my SAE, I’ve realized that my greatest strength is mathematics and precision. My greatest weakness is being able to find the time to put into my work among the other things I am doing.
Q: Has this experience helped you make any decisions regarding your future career?
Black: I have chosen to pursue a welding career and also go to college for welding.
