Three teens injured in UTV crash near Shell Knob

        Three teenagers* were injured when their UTV flipped south of Shell Knob. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, two 14 year old children and a 15 year old were injured when the UTV was not maintaining a single lane of travel and ran off the road and overturned.
        The report stated the crash involved a  Polaris Ranger UTV on Friday, May 26, around 6:02 p.m. One 14 year old, of Olathe, Kan., was driving westbound on Farm Road 1216 two miles south of Shell Knob, with the other two teens as passengers. She was unable to maintain a single lane of travel, travelled off the roadway and overturned.
        All three teens were moderately injured. The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by ambulance. A 14 year old, of Wayland, Mass., and a 15 year old, of Olathe, Kan., were taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, as well. None of the teens were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
        The UTV was moderately damaged and removed from the scene by a family member.
