It’s time to make your way to Shell Knob this weekend for the 18th Annual Shakin’ in the Shell Fest and Car Show at Shell Knob Chamber Park.
The two-day event will kickoff Friday, September 13, from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. where patrons can enjoy commercial and food vendors, a beer garden for ages 21 and up, and a free concert by Morgan Squared from 7 p.m.-10 p.m.
Saturday, September 14, promises cars, more music, and more fun for everyone. Commercial and food vendors and the beer garden garden will be available from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. where there will also be mixed drinks available for patrons 21 and up.
This year’s festival brings an expanded kids area which will feature an inflatable obstacle course, bungee trampoline, bouncy house, rock wall, and even basketball from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Dickerson Zoo will hold two demonstrations: Birds of Prey and Reptiles; and there will also be 7-foot tall Realistic Dinosaurs.
The 35th annual Classic and Customs Car Show at Shakin’ will start at 8 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. There will be more than 100 unique vehicles at the annual event. Anyone interested in participating in the car show, contact Abby Kranz, Executive Director of the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce, at [email protected] or stop by the chamber office. Participants are also welcome to register for the car show the day of the event, but space is limited to 150 vehicles.
There will be two additional concerts on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. with Matt Bruffet and open mic, and Lead Pipe Conservatory taking the stage at 6 p.m. and close down the festival at 9 p.m.
See the Shakin’ in the Shell Fest ad on page 9 in this week’s issue for information on specific events and times.
