Two BC families awarded Century Farm status
Two families in Barry County were awarded the Century Farm status award by the University of Missouri Extension Office this year. Charles Whisman and family were given the award for 49 qualifying acres acquired in 1912 by his grandparents, Joel and Sarah Whisman. Kenneth Saloga and family had 80 qualifying acres from 1914, which he inherited from his grandfather, George W. Schad. The Whisman family is pictured above with representatives from the University of Missouri Extension Office.
