Two charged with burglary, assault at Cassville home

Two were arrested after a break in and assault on two people in Cassville last week. According to the affidavits of probable cause, Amy J. Walker, 31, of Cassville, and Zachary D. Blay, 34, of Cassville, forced entry into a mobile home on Wayne Drive in Cassville and assaulted two people.
Officer Taylor Lombard, of the Cassville Police Department, was dispatched to the address for a disturbance on Friday, October 4. One of the victims called 911 to report he was running from Blay and Walker and another person said he was assaulted.
The victims and witnesses reported that Blay and Walker forced their way into the home where three people were inside. Blay and Walker allegedly hit two of the victims in the face multiple times. Blay was also reported to have armed himself with a knife and told one of the victims he would kill him and "take his face off."
One victim suffered from a nose injury that was bleeding. The other victim suffered a swollen right eye and a fractured wrist from the assault and had to be transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville for treatment.
The door jamb to the mobile home was also damaged in the incident, needing about $80 worth of repairs.
Both Walker and Blay were located in the residence and taken into police custody. Blay is charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, one count of armed criminal action, one count of burglary in the first degree and one count of property damage in the second degree. He is currently being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash-only bond.
