Two circus shows in Cassville on Sept. 23

September 16, 2015
Charlea Mills

The circus is coming to town. For Cassville area residents, the Carson and Barnes Circus will be rolling into town on Wednesday, September 23, for two different shows and a special free elephant bath time event.
The circus will have two performances on Wednesday, one at 4:30 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m., at the American Legion grounds on Highway 112.
To kick off the day, a special free event for the community begins at 3 p.m. The Asian elephants featured in the Carson and Barnes circus will have a spa day from their head to their toes. Staff will be washing the elephants, exfoliating and moisturizing them and giving them pedicures. Anyone from the public is welcome to watch the event for free on Wednesday afternoon.
Also during the free event, the community is welcome to view the exotic animals before each performance. Animals include a menagerie of animals from around the world.
The show itself will feature a variety of performances, including death-defying extreme stunt bike riders, animals, acrobats and more.
Tickets for the circus are available in advance for $12 for adults and $6 for children under the age of 12. Day-of prices will be $16 for adults and $10 for children under the age of 12. Tickets are available on their website at www.BigTopShow.com or by calling (580) 743-7292.
