Two injured in crash near Roaring River

Two people were injured on Route F near Roaring River on Saturday, February 29. According to the crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the roadway before overturning.
The report states a 1966 Pontiac Catalina, driven by Carrol G. Akehurst, 61, of Goodman, was westbound when the crash happened around 1 p.m. about two miles east of Roaring River State Park. The vehicle travelled over the center line, ran off the left side of the roadway then returned to the roadway, ran off the right side and overturned.
Both Akehurst and a 14 year old male passenger were injured in the crash. They each received moderate injuries and were transported from the scene to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.
Neither were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Catalina was totalled and towed from the scene by Brice’s Towing, of Cassville.
