Two injured in MO-76 rear-end crash

Two people were injured after a two-vehicle crash on MO 76 outside of Cassville over the weekend. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the two vehicles collided on Saturday, November 2, around 7:10 p.m. about half a mile west of Cassville.
The report states that Larry E. Porter, 65, of Exeter, was trying to make a left turn in a 2012 Kia Optima headed eastbound. A second vehicle, a 2016 Kia Rio, driven by Janet L. Poyner, 75, of Exeter, was driving southbound and failed to slow, striking the other vehicle in the rear.
Poyner suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville for treatment. Porter suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville, as well, by private vehicle.
Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The Rio was extensively damaged and towed from the scene by Brice's Towing of Cassville. The Optima was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.
