Two killed in crash south of Cassville Sat.

Two men were killed in a two-vehicle crash south of Cassville on Saturday. Johnny J. Berry, 59, of Exeter, and Scott C. Menick, 57, of Joplin, were riding in a car that was hit by a truck around 8:19 a.m. on Saturday, March 16.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Berry was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo westbound on Farm Road 2212 with Menick as a passenger.
The Aveo failed to yield to a second vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 pickup, driven by Daniel R. Lloyd, 43, of Aurora, headed southbound on MO 37.
The truck struck the side of the Aveo.
Menick was pronounced deceased at the scene by Barry County deputy coroner Gary Swanson at 8:24 a.m. and transported to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Berry was transported by air care and pronounced deceased by Dr. Hegde at Cox South Hospital at 9:47 a.m.
They were Missouri State Highway Patrol's 17th and 18th fatalities for 2019.
Lloyd was transported by EMS to Mercy Hospital in Cassville for treatment of minor injuries.
Lloyd was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Berry and Menick were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The pickup was towed from the scene by Wellbaum Towing. The Aveo was towed from the scene by Wilson's Wrecker.
