Two-year old found safe after Washburn shooting

January 5, 2014

Charlea Mills

Two-year old Alli Paschall was found safe in Springdale, Ark., after the girl's father took her from a home in Washburn after a shooting. Barry Count sheriff Mick Epperly confirmed that the girl's father, Christopher Lee Paschall, Springdale, Ark., is in custody in connection with the shooting.

Epperly stated that two people were shot at the home located on Farm Road 1055 off of 8th Street in Washburn. Alli's mother, Casie Brace, 29, was killed. The owner of the residence and grandfather of the girl, Herburt Townsend, was shot and flown to Cox Hospital in Springfield with undisclosed injuries. Epperly does not believe that Brace and Paschall were married.

An Amber Alert was issued for Alli around 4:38 p.m. but cancelled shortly after when the girl was found safe, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol call taker at Troop D's headquarters in Springfield.

Paschall is described as
33, white, 5-foot-6, 150 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes, and a tattoo on his right arm.

Epperly stated that Paschall is currently being held in Arkansas and that the Barry County Sheriff's Department will be interviewing him and investigating there later tonight.
