According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Patrick A. Jordan, 28, of Clearwater, Kan., was driving a 2007 Mazda S eastbound when he made a U-turn in front of a 2004 Pontiac GTO. The GTO, driven by Louis M. Soto, 22, of Verona, struck the driver side of Mazda.
Jordan had no reported injuries at the time of the crash, but his passenger, Tammy A. Coe, 37, of El Dorado, Kan., was moderately injured and had to be taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Jordan was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, but Coe was not.
Soto had to be air lifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for serious injuries sustained in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Both the Mazda and the Pontiac were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene by Certified Towing, out of Monett.
