Verona man injured in head-on crash outside of Jenkins

A Verona man was injured after a two vehicle crash on MO 39 north of Jenkins on Tuesday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a pick up crossed the center line and hit a semi truck head-on.
On Tuesday, February 12, a 2008 Dodge pickup truck, driven by David L. Jenkins, 44, of Verona, was headed northbound about two miles north of Jenkins when the truck crossed the center line and struck a semi head-on around 6:45 a.m. The semi, a 1996 Peterbilt driven by Jason M. Huebner, 34, of Lockwood, was headed southbound.
Jenkins was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. Huebner had no reported injuries at the time of the crash.
Jenkins was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Huebner was wearing a seat belt.
The Dodge was totaled and towed from the scene by Jim Car Towing, of Aurora. The semi sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
