Wildcats take 7th at Spokane

January 27, 2021
Lee Stubblefield

Playing in the seventh-place game of the Spokane Tournament on Saturday, the Cats claimed a 48-40 victory over the Southwest Trojans. Cassville improved to 4-11 with a caveat: half those wins came at the expense of the Trojans.
Cassville took an early 11-8 lead, then used a 20-7 second quarter to post a 31-15 lead at halftime. The Trojans chipped away at that lead, holding the Wildcats to just four points in the third quarter. But the lead was too large to overcome.
Cassville’s Aidan Cook scored 21, including a 13/20 performance from the free throw line. Zak Starr led Southwest with 19.
