Wildcats take second at Cassville Relays

PictureCassville’s Joby Paul races to third in the 1600.
April 27, 2016
Lee Stubblefield

Reeds Spring  outlasted Cassville 188-143 to win the boys division of the Cassville Relays on Tuesday, April 19. Monett won the girls division with 95 points, Cassville was fourth, scoring 75.
It was a smaller meet than usual. With the Ozark 7 Conference meet scheduled for Wednesday,  Southwest, Purdy and Wheaton did not attend.
There were outstanding performances by the Cassville thinclads. The Wildcats have not been competitive in the distance events in recent years, and the emergence of Joby Paul and Derek Christy added strength to an already-powerful Cassville squad.
