Morgan Williams is no stranger in the Cassville area. The Barry County native attended grade school in Shell Knob and graduated from high school in Cassville.
More recently, she was tagged as the new Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce director. Monday was her first day on the job.
Williams has spent the last four years working in an administrative/clerical position for the Cox Monett general surgery clinic.
“I felt really drawn to come back to work in the Cassville area,” she said. “This is where I live and my sons are in school here.”
Williams and her husband Trevor have two sons, Logan (12) and Landon (10).
William says she has many family members who are small business owners.
“I like the idea of being able to give back to the community I live in and be an asset to businesses from the non-owner side,” she said.
Williams herself previously owned Morgy B’s clothing store in Cassville and is familiar with the challenges and rewards small business owners experience.
Williams says she’s super-excited about opening day at Roaring River: her first “event” as chamber director. The chamber will begin serving coffee under the Les Jacobs Ford tent at 4 a.m.
“For a long time, Trout Day was just another day off school,” she said, “so this will offer a whole new perspective.”
Williams will be replacing Rachael Selby Freeman, who has accepted a position with Arning Companies in Cassville.
