Wreck near Monett injures four, including pedestrian

Four people were injured last week when a car was rear-ended on MO 37 two miles south of Monett. Three people were injured in the crash and, after, the wreck, a fire tanker was not put in park and rolled into a pedestrian.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports, Devin L. Fischer, 36, of Verona, was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 and was stopped to make a left turn and was rear-ended. The second driver, Jerod R. Black, 19, of Seligman, was driving a 1997 Ford Escort that was totalled in the wreck.
Black, though wearing a seat belt, received serious injuries and had to be transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Fischer and his passenger, an 11-year-old boy, were taken to Cox Hospital in Monett. Fischer received moderate injuries while the boy’s injuries were minor. Neither were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
An additional injury occurred when a fire tanker on the scene rolled into the Ford Escort and a pedestrian. The tanker was not put into park and it rolled forward, causing moderate injuries to the pedestrian, Zona M. Williams, 43, of Monett. Williams was taken to Cox Hospital in Monett.
