In a short ceremony in front of the sheriff’s office Tuesday afternoon, 44 Barry County deputies were sworn in under sheriff-elect Danny Boyd, after he was sworn in earlier that day. The law requires that all county officials be sworn in prior to January 1, the day when newly elected officials will assume their responsibilities.
