Accident claims life of Purdy resident

A single-vehicle accident claimed the life of Carl D. Harris, 47, of Purdy, Monday, January 11.
According to a Cassville Police Department report, Harris was traveling south on Highway 37 when his 2004 Dodge Dakota ran off the right side of the roadway north of Farm Road 2172, then struck a guardrail and a tree.
The Cassville Police Department was dispatched to the scene of the accident at 5:10 p.m.
According to the report, personnel from the Cassville Fire Protection District and Mercy EMS performed CPR on Harris for approximately 30 minutes at the scene. Harris was pronounced deceased at 5:49 p.m. by Dr. Jones, with Mercy Springfield Hospital Medical Control.
It is believed that Harris suffered a medical emergency which led to the accident.
The accident was investigated by Sergeant Donald Privett with the Cassville Police Department and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
