Accident injures area residents

According to a Missouri Highway Patrol report, on July 5 at 8:55 p. m., San Fernandez-Garcia, 42, of Monett, was driving an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe on US 60. While attempting to turn left in front of Emily North’s westbound 2000 Ford Mustang, North (18), of Crane, hit Fernandez-Garcia head on, totaling the Mustang.
Fernandez-Garcia’s passenger, a juvenile female, 15, of Monett, and North were both transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. Fernandez-Garcia’s Tahoe was driven from the scene with extensive damage, North’s Mustang was towed by Thomas Towing.
Fernandez-Garcia and his passenger wore safety devices, it is unknown, however, if North was.
