According to Jennifer McBroom, CEO/General Manager with Barry Electric Cooperative, the cooperative only had two instances with power outages since overnight Thunderstorms moved through Barry County last Thursday, bringing with it an arctic blast.
On Thursday night a tree fell though the three-phase line just south of the Mineral Springs substation. Crews were able to reroute power in just over an hour to members and make repairs.
A similar instance occured around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night, when a large tree located near Oak Hill Cemetery fell through the three-phase lines knocking out power to portions of Cassville. Crews worked quickly to reroute the power in single digit temperatures and had the broken pole replaced by 1 a.m. on Sunday
