Area fireworks shows kick off July 3

Every Independence Day, area communities put on fireworks shows to entertain and celebrate together. This year's events span from July 3 through July 6, making it possible to get more bang for no bucks. Check out the schedules for area shows.
July 3
This year's fireworks show in Purdy will be on Wednesday, July 3. A picnic meal, available for $5, and musical performances will begin at 5:30 p.m. at The Gathering Place at the corner of Old Business 37 and Highway C. Bands performing this year are J-Rock and the Playboyz. The fireworks show begins at dark. Purdy's fireworks show is hosted by Terry Family Fireworks and supported through community donations, including the City of Purdy.
While the City of Washburn does not have an official show, there will be an Independence Day celebration at Washburn First Baptist Church on July 3 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The church will offer free food, games, a dunk tank, water slides and fireworks will begin at dark. The church is located at 618 North Second Street.
July 4
Seligman's Independence will be on Tuesday, July 4. There will be free hot dogs and polish sausages provided by the Seligman Chamber of Commerce at 5 p.m. at city hall, and The Flyin' Buzzards will perform from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fireworks will be at dark behind city hall.
Wheaton's FreedomJam will be on the Fourth of July. Food will be served beginning at 6 p.m. and music begins at 6:30 p.m. Musical guests this year include Gus Robbins & Relentless and Travis Scott & the Playboyz. Fireworks will be shot off in the Wheaton City Park by the Wheaton Fire Department at dark.
Shell Knob's Fire & Thunder fireworks show over Table Rock Lake will be held on July 4th. The show begins at 9 p.m. about a half a mile east of the Shell Knob bridge.
This year's boat parade's theme is Let Freedom Ring, and boat parade participants can decorate their boats for a chance to win cash prizes. The boat parade starts at 11 a.m. from Point 21 to the bridge and circles back along the other shore on the way back. First place in the boat show is $300, second place is $200 and third place is $100. Registrants will also receive a gift back with each entry, and one gift bag will contain a ticket for a free Shell Knopoly board game.

Monett's Freedom & Fireworks event begins at 1 p.m. on July 4 at the City Park at 105 S. Lincoln Street. Fireworks are free to the public, and activities throughout the day will be available with the purchase of a wristband. Wristbands are $10 in advance or $15 after July 1 and include: the Monett Aquatic Center, barrel train, laser tag, inflatables, the Ferris wheel, bucking spider, tubs of fun, swing and more.
Traditional fair food will be available for purchase, as well.
July 6
The Eagle Rock Golden Mano Fire Department is hosting their Fired Up & Smokin' fireworks and BBQ event on Saturday, July 6. The event begins at 10 a.m. with food and fireworks will be discharged at dusk on over the Highway 96 bridge.
