ATV driver lifeflighted after forest crash

A crash outside Eagle Rock left the driver of an ATV seriously injured. The driver, Kurtis A. Miner, 72, of Cassville, had to be lifeflighted for care after the crash on Friday, May 31.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Miner was driving a 2009 Yamaha Grizzly southbound in the national forest about five miles northeast of Eagle Rock. The ATV overturned as Miner attempted to ascent an embankment and overturned around 4:04 p.m.

Miner was seriously injured and lifeflighted from the scene and taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The ATV was extensively damaged and removed from the scene by a private party.
