Barry County's first baby of 2020 born to Washburn family
January 8, 2020
It didn’t take long for the first baby of 2020 to arrive at Cox Monett. Dylan and Elizabeth Fancher, of Washburn, welcomed baby Jaxson Dean into the world on Jan. 1 at 2:21 a.m.
At birth, the baby clocked in at a healthy 6 pounds and 8 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches long.
Jaxson Dean’s mom said, “This is the second baby I have had at Cox Monett. The people who work here are so friendly; I just like the feel of a small hospital because it’s nice and comfortable.”
Little Jaxson will be welcomed home by two siblings: four-year old Oren and 21-month-old Charlotte.
Dr. Ronda Azelton, Family Practice and Obstetrics of Monett, assisted mom in delivering the New Year’s baby.
Cox Monett presented a gift basket to the Fancher family in honor of their new bundle of joy. It included plush toys, bibs, rattle, onesie, a book, and a congratulatory card from hospital staff and administration.
