Cassville man charged with shooting two victims Monday night
Two suffered non-life-threatening injuries

A Cassville man is in jail on a $200,000 bond after allegedly shooting two people on Monday, October 20. Ronnie Ray Adkins, 63, is charged with two counts of armed criminal action, two counts of assault in the first degree with serious injuries and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon following the event.
According to affidavits of probable cause by the Barry County Sheriff’s Department, officers were dispatched for shots fired on Farm Road 2200 in rural Cassville around 8 p.m. on Monday night. Two juvenile females reported Adkins had approached them in a black Chevy Blazer and made comments to them that made them uncomfortable. The two reported to the one girl’s stepfather and his friend.
When the two men walked down the road to confront Adkins, he shot them, according to the report. Adkins was then said to drive off. Both victims were wounded went to the hospital for medical treatment. One victim was flown to Mercy Rogers.
The victims’ injuries were non-life-threatening, according to a press release by the Barry County Sheriff’s Department. One was shot in the arm, and the other victim was shot in the leg.
When officers went to Adkins’ residence, the black Chevy Blazer was in the driveway with a pistol and ammunition in the front seat, according to the deputy on scene.
Adkins was taken into custody in the early hours of Tuesday, October 21, by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in a field south of his residence. Officers believe Adkins fled on foot when officers arrived at the residence.
While executing a search warrant of Adkins’ property, officers located a suitcase packed and body armor laid out on the couch.
Barry County Judge Robert Foulke issued a warrant for a $200,000 cash-only bond for Adkins on Monday, October 21. Adkins is scheduled for a bond appearance hearing on Thursday, October 24. In all, he is charged with six separate felony charges from the assault.
