Cassville Prescription Take Back event Oct. 26
October 16, 2019
The Cassville Police Department is again participating in the D.E.A. Prescription Take Back Day. This will be held October 26, 2019, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The drop off site for medication is at Cassville City Hall/Cassville Police Department at 300 Main. The entrance will be in the back of the building using the Council Chamber door.
Prescription Take Back Day is to help people properly dispose of unused medications. Proper disposal of medication helps to protect the environment and keeps the medicine from being flushed into the water system. This also helps keep the medication out of the hands of people who do not have a prescription or need for the medication but want to use it for recreational use only.
The Cassville Police Department is encouraging people to take the time to clean out their medicine drawers and cabinets and properly dispose of their unused medicine.
The Cassville Police Department will also accept over-the-counter medications. The event will not accept: inhalers, illegal drugs or sharp objects (i.e. syringes/needles). Nor will medications be accepted from medical clinics, pharmacies or veterinary clinics.
