Cassville teams dominate Ice Box Relays

Cassville thinclads swept both the boys and girls divisions of the Aurora Ice Box Relays last Thursday. The Wildcats scored 177 and the Ladycats put up 179 in a strong showing. The Cassville boys snagged six individual golds, and the girls accumulated five individual gold medals and two sets on relays.
Cassville’s Jordyn Stafford, Annie Moore, and Tori Mitchell swept the medals in the 1600 meter run in an impressive display.
But the highlight of the meet came from Southwest’s Travis Sickles. Sickles vaulted into the Class 2 state rankings with his 10:10.83 victory in the 3200 meter run. No April Fools Joke here. Sickles lapped the field, chasing Daniel Stubblefield’s 17-year old 10:01.06 school record.
