City Meets Country in SKITS spring play
March 11, 2020
Comedy, deception, romance and an Ozark resort proprietor whose pants keep mysteriously dropping to his ankles. The talented actors and crew of SKITS bring you Farce of Nature.
New actors and veteran players have combined forces to bring you one of the funniest shows to ever grace the SKITS stage. Join them as they take you home to the Reel ‘Em Inn, the finest little fishing lodge in the Ozarks where another typical day turns into a chaotic collision of forces when the Wilburn family gets wrapped up with a couple wise guys from Chicago. When Ozark Hospitality crosses paths with a made man, you might as well fuggedaboutit.
SKITS is thrilled to continually have so many wonderful actors and crew members to help make the shows the huge success that they are. Director Anne Hoffman is blown away by the talent and enthusiasm shown by all the players and particularly by the new actors. “We always want to give people the opportunity to do something that they maybe have always wanted to do and haven’t had the chance to,” said Hoffman, “and it’s coming together better than any show yet.”
One of the cast members joining for her first SKITS production is Sue Klassen, of Shell Knob. Klassen is excited for the opportunity to get back on stage and despite being new to the SKITS stage, is excited and confident, thanks in part to the experience provided by the supportive veteran actors. “For a small town like Shell Knob to have this quality of actors, set design, costumes, and show in general; it's really something fantastic,” she said.
Veteran cast member Craig Buford may have said it best, “It’s two hours of laughs, it’s set in the Ozarks, and it's right at everybody's level, it’s us.”
Come on out April 24 and 25 at 6:30 p.m. and April 26 for the 2 p.m matinee at the United Methodist Church in Shell Knob. Tickets are available at Arvest Bank, Freedom Bank, Jug ‘n Plug and the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $9 for adults, and children 12 and under are free.
