After five years of experience, Cody Barnhart has at last opened his own insurance agency in Cassville. As a licensed agent working under the broader umbrella of Farmers Insurance, Barnhart was offered the opportunity to begin his own agency and accepted happily.
“This has been the goal for as long as I remember,” said Barnhart. “The most rewarding thing to me, though, is getting to meet the people in town, and learn about what they do, and be there for somebody when something not great happens. At least I can be a bit of assistance in times of stress for folks. The [insurance agents] who do well, and last, only last because we really care.”
Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Barnhart earned an Associates Degree in Engineering Tech from McNeese State University in his hometown, and moved with his wife Erica to Jenkins in 2013 to be closer to family.
“We all practically live on the same road now,” he laughed.
Since then, Barnhart has continued striving toward his “dream of owning [his] own business,” and now works to insure “business professionals, farmers, and everybody in between.”
“We put the needs of the customer above everything else,” Barnhart continued, “getting back to the old-school customer service that seems to have gone away. A huge part of the environment here is that we’re here, taking care of people the right way every single time.”
The business officially opened July 1, 2021, and although Barnhart spent much of his early life in Louisiana says he plans to retire here.
“I’m in for the long-haul,” he said.
