According to Barry County Health Department administrator Roger Brock, as of August 5, Barry County added 167 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since July 28. One hundred, ninety-eight patients are in isolation.
A total of 3,865 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Barry County since the counting period began in March of 2020.
The deaths of two additional COVID-19 patients were also reported for the same period, bringing the total number of deaths of Barry County residents due to COVID to 64.
As of Monday morning, Mercy Hospital spokesperson Sony Kullman reported 106 inpatients with active cases of COVID-19 at Mercy Springfield, with an additional 22 patients still hospitalized although they’re no longer considered infectious. Nineteen patients, said Kullman, are hospitalized in Mercy regional hospitals, including four in Cassville and four in Aurora.
According to Kullman, Mercy lost seven COVID patients over the weekend, which brought the death total to 28, for August alone.
CoxHealth spokesperson, Kaitlyn McConnell, reported Tuesday that there were 164 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the Cox system as of that time, and that 31 COVID patients had died during the previous week.

Free COVID-19 vaccinations are available at the following locations in Barry County. Recipients are asked to present a health insurance card if they are insured. If they are uninsured, the vaccine will still be administered at no charge.
Moderna and J&J vaccinations will only be administered to those age 18 and up.
Pfizer vaccinations are available for those age 12 and up.
• Barry County Health Department, 65 Main St, Cassville: Pfizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines are currently being offered Monday - Thursday on a walk-in basis, 9 - 11 a.m and 1 - 5 p.m.
Tests for COVID-19 are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call 417-847-2114 for a test appointment.
• Roark Family Health, 1101 Main Street, Cassville: Moderna vaccinations are offered at no charge during weekly drive-up clinics. A clinic is being held Wednesday, August 11; the next one will be held Friday, August 20.
COVID-19 testing is available for $40, regardless of Roark membership.

• Whitley Pharmacy, 101 8th Street, Cassville: Moderna vaccine is available on a walk-in basis on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Sater Pharmacy, 705 Main Street, Cassville: Vaccinations will be administered between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a walk-in basis on the following schedule: Monday and Wednesday, Moderna; Tuesday and Thursday, Pfizer; Friday, Johnson & Johnson. Pfizer is the only vaccine offered to ages 12 - 17.
• Plaza Pharmacy, 24875 State Hwy. 39, Shell Knob: Vaccinations will be administered between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a walk-in basis on the following schedule: Monday and Wednesday, Moderna; Tuesday and Thursday, Pfizer; Friday, Johnson & Johnson. Pfizer is the only vaccine offered to ages 12 - 17.
• Bruner Pharmacy, 321 E. Broadway, Monett: A vial of Moderna vaccine containing ten doses will be opened each day, Monday through Friday. Please call 417-235-3139 for an appointment.
• Old Town Pharmacy, 100 Chapell Dr., Ste. A. Monett: Pfizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines are offered on a walk-in basis. Pfizer is the only vaccine offered to ages 12 - 17.
• Walmart Pharmacy, Cassville and Monett locations: Moderna vaccine is available on a walk-in basis during pharmacy hours.
Walmart in Monett offers vaccinations at the following times: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2 - 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2 - 5 p.m.
