The Barry County Health Department and Office of Emergency Management are reporting two additional deaths in their weekly COVID-19 situational update for January 19: one female and one male. Both people were age 61 or older and had significant underlying health conditions. The total number of deaths reported from COVID-19 complications in Barry County now stands at 47.
The number of confirmed cases reported in Barry County is now at 2,760. That number represents an increase of 89 cases, down significantly from last week’s increase of 145 confirmed cases.
The weekly positivity rate of confirmed cases has also dropped significantly, from 21.8 percent based on the numbers reported on the January 12 update, to 13.16 percent using the numbers on the January 19 report.
Five people are currently hospitalized, 93 patients are in isolation with active cases of COVID-19 and over 200 are currently in quarantine after exposure to active cases.
