    Caleb Leach placed 2nd overall and his Cassville Wildcats won the varsity boys team competition at the Hot Dawg Cross Country Invitational at Aurora on Thursday. The Cassville boys scored 43 points, best in a field of six complete teams.

    Purdy’s Bryce Ozbun ran a strong race at Aurora, finishing 3rd overall in 18:27.72, just sixteen seconds off the winner, Jack Lawson, of Carl Junction.
Lady Wildcats second at Aurora
    The Lady Wildcats raced to a second place team finish at Aurora. Jolie Evans matched Leach’s feat, taking second overall to pace the Ladycats.

Long leads SW at Strafford
    At the Fellows Lake 5000 in Strafford, Christian Long and Caden Uthe led Southwest, placing 4th and 5th with identical 18:35.1 times. Otis Rainer placed 20th in 20:13.4. With only three runners, the Trojans did not place in the team scoring.
    Cally Bowyer, the lone entry for the Lady Trojans, finished 8th in 24:26.3.
    The Wheaton Bulldogs finished 11th in the 12-team field.
