Crowder distributes CARES funds to students

Crowder College is pleased to announced the distribution of $1.319M to students enrolled this spring semester in accordance with the Department of Education’s regarding the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
The funds are being disbursed to 1,699 students who were identified as eligible for Title IV funding as of March 17, 2020. Following guidance from the Department of Education and Section 484 of the Title IV Higher Education Act of 1965, certain students were excluded. The funds will be distributed based on the number of credit hours each student was enrolled in as of March 17, 2020.
“Funds are being directly disbursed to student and will not be applied to any unpaid student accounts. These funds are provided to help students cover expenses related to food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care. These funds are not part of their award from Crowder financial aid, but may be used to pay tuition and fees if the students chooses, stated Dr. Glenn Coltharp, Crowder College President.
